  • SETTING THE STAGE FOR COMMITMENT; DATING VS COURTSHIP

As earlier said yesterday, the foundation of a marital relationship is important to its success. There is a huge difference between dating and courtship; a number of singles don’t seem to acknowledge this.

Dating does not involve a marital proposal, it is just the act of hanging around with a particular person consistently, or a period of time set aside to get along with family and friends while courtship is defined by marital proposal, marriage in view and tentative wedding period.

Courtship should not be assumed but assured. Where a marital relationship does not have marriage as its goal, abuse of all kinds is inevitable and commitment will be very difficult to come by for where the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do to stir commitment in your marital relationship. It is not enough that you know your intention for your partner, you must know what he or she thinks about your relationship.
