  • HOW TO SUSTAIN COMMITMENT IN A MARITAL RELATIONSHIP (EXTRACT FROM SEPTEMBER TEACHINGS).

To sustain commitment in a relationship, the following steps have to be followed:

✓Have conviction

✓Shun Manipulation

✓Embrace accountability/Openness

✓Embrace hearing God

✓Deal with your past.

✓Shun fear and lots more.

All marital relationships will experience a dual season of highs and lows—the good and the bad times. What keeps you going when the going gets tough is your conviction. Conviction simply means the act of being persuaded about your marital decision.

A lot of people who are confident enough to walk away from their marriages or who are not committed to their spouse have never gotten to the point of being totally persuaded or convinced about their marital choices. This is because conviction gives you the strength needed to fight for the survival of your marital relationship against all odds.

Manipulating a person into embarking on a marital relationship with you can only work for a short period of time, not for a lifetime. Hence, it is important that you shun manipulation. Don’t be the only one who is convinced about your marital relationship; give your intending spouse enough time to get the same conviction to journey with you forever, and neither should you be manipulated into a marital relationship by the conviction of your intending partner.
