It was said yesterday that when you make eye contact with your spouse, it decreases negative emotions, diffuses pressure, builds trust and affirms love irrespective of how difficult is the message or information that should passed across (please check yesterday’s devotional for update). As much as making eye contact makes communication simple, it has to follow the right body language so as not to create unnecessary tension that defect the purpose of communication.
Communication comprises of verbal and non-verbal types. Verbal communication involves talking and texting, while body language is one of the ways of communicating non-verbally as body language is the use of physical expression, actions and manners to communicate rather than voicing it. The elements of body language are facial expression, touch, gesture, use of space, posture, eye movement and more. When each of these elements is effectively and positively employed, they can give way to simplicity in conversation between the marital partners.
ACTION POINT
Deliberately align your body language with the message passed for clarity.
