Another factor that could hinder your spouse from talking to you heart-to-heart is intellectual incompatibility, social gaps, and mental health challenges. There are some couples who will hide information from one another because they believe that the other party is not knowledgeable enough to make a meaningful contribution to whatever they are going through.
Therefore, there should not be too much disparity between your level of education and exposure compared to that of your spouse or your intending spouse, so as to prevent emotional abuse and domestic violence in your marital relationship. As a married individual, keep adding value to yourself as your spouse grows (not out of competition but relevance), and as singles, don’t despise your educational and social status in making marital decisions.
Mental health, on the other hand, could be the reason behind the sudden social withdrawal of a person who was once outspoken, bubbling, and outgoing. One of the first outward symptoms you will see in a person undergoing a mental health issue is either weak behavior or excessive behavior. Such as not talking at all or being talkative. A number of us could quickly give up on a friend or a spouse who just suddenly decides to stop talking to us.
Many times, we feel that they are adults who should not be probed or forced to initiate a conversation or sustain it, but in the real sense, their mental health is messed up. Therefore, before you conclude that your spouse is not talking to you enough, do well to be sure that he or she is mentally well and stable.
