One of the important factors that helps stabilize marital relationships is accountability to your partner, to your mentor, and to a common mentor you both have. I experienced a loss of potentially good marital engagement until I had a mentor that I could be accountable to on marital issues.
For instance, before I accepted my husband’s marital proposal, he met with my mentor, and I met with his. This way, each of us had to think twice before opting for a breakup because of the involvement of people that we both hold in high esteem; the same also goes for our marriage today.
ACTION POINT
Do you and your partner have a common mentor? If not, prayerfully get one.
