Self-perception is negative when your estimation of yourself falls short of your strength or when your strength is overrated beyond what it is.
How do you estimate yourself? Do you project your weakness as such that you do not see any good in yourself? Or do you project your strengths so highly that you appear to yourself as not having weaknesses and limitations?
Either one indicates a negative or unhealthy self-perception.
