In the previous teaching, I taught on what in-group prejudices are and concluded that it is important that you give your spouse a benefit of doubt until he or she proves not to be trust worthy, in-group prejudice or bias is highly detrimental to effective listening and aspiring marital bliss (please see the previous teaching for more details).
Another form of prejudice that is highly detrimental to effective listening is self-fulfilling prophecy; self-fulfilling profess is illustrated when you form build an expectation or form an opinion against an idea suggested by your spouse. This could make you to naturally put up an attitude or actions that will influence your behavior, attitude or action negatively around your spouse thereby causing your negative presumption to come to pass. The scripture says as a man thinketh in his hearth so is he, if you must build your home with wisdom, effective listening is required for adequate knowledge.
