You cannot love others better than how you love yourself; likewise, it will be difficult to get committed to anyone more than how you are committed to yourself. If you are a person who does not love yourself well enough, loving your spouse adequately might be a difficult task for you, as marital commitment involves paying maximum attention to your spouse, which could be draining on your part if you don’t have a reservoir of love for yourself.
However, self-love is indicated by the following:
✓Self-awareness
✓Self-worth/ self-acceptance
✓Self esteem
✓Self-care
