EXECUTIVE FUNCTONING SKILLS

The Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University defines executive functioning skills as a group of skills that help us to focus on multiple streams of information at the same time, monitor errors, make decisions in the light of available information, revise plans as necessary, and resist the urge to let frustration lead us to hasty actions. However, the twelve executive functioning skills are

  3. Emotion control
  4. Focus
  5. Task initiation
  6. Planning/ prioritization
  7. Organization
  8. Time management
  9. Defining and achieving goals
  10. Flexibility
  11. Observation
  12. Stress tolerance
  13. These skills are highly required for emotional intelligence because they will enable us to have good control of situations and be better managers of people and resources, which in turn will promote our mental wellbeing, improve our esteem, and make us affectionate and irresistible lover.
