Today, Sure Hope Counseling Clinic in collaboration with the Hope for Preteens, Teens, Youth and the Vulnerable Ones Initiative, had an impactful session with the brilliant students of Honey Gold School, Ologuneru, Ibadan.
Our discussion focused on sexual harassment and abuse — helping the students understand:
What sexual harassment and abuse mean
The triggers that can lead someone to commit the act
Why victims are often vulnerable to their abusers
We also highlighted how both the abuser and the abused are often trying to fill an emotional gap, and guided them on:
Preventing sexual harassment and abuse
Steps to take if they ever find themselves as victims
Finally questions were answered in a safe space
We deeply appreciate the school authorities for the privilege to contribute to the growth and protection of these young minds.
